First Semester Beginning Quilting

We will be using Eleanor Burn's book It's Elementary which is very easy to understand with lots of pictures to follow. Each student needs to make an appointment with me ahead of class time to pick out his or her fabric for the project. If you want to use some of your own fabric please bring it along to be checked. In the past, I have allowed students to use whatever fabric they wish but this just causes too many problems. From now on, all fabric must be good quality 100% cotton quilting fabric or I will not let you use it in your project. You will learn to cut and press correctly and practice your scant 14" seam allowance before moving on to constructing the (5) 12 1/2" blocks into a 42 x 42" wall hanging or a long runner.
Four 6-Hour Sessions
Monday, September 22nd, 29th, October 6th & 13th- 9:00 to 3:00pm
With Carol, purchase of book required- Cost is $100.00
(Includes Large Zippered Project Bag & 2 Fat Quarters)

Reversible Quilts

Back by popular demand-and this fall may be the last time since the book is going out of print. Let Sue walk you through the basic techniques for constructing a reversible quilt. You can make any size quilt with this technique, great for using up all those scraps. When you're done with the top, you're done with the back-all you have to do is add the binding and it's done. And Sue will show you how to make a matching reversible binding at that!
